Regarding the systematic characteristics of this design and the complexity of it’s manual control, the use of parametric modeling was crucial to the accomplishment of our geometrical and spacial goals. On one hand it gave us the possibility of constant exhaustive and fairly controlled experimentation, which would never be possible with conventional ways of modeling. On the other hand – once all the parameters were correctly set and the output requirements defined – we were able to still adjust the geometry until the last moment, including on site, where somethings always go wrong!
